Flower Power Birthday Card

This is an easy project for those who are brand new to quilling or paper filigree.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Quilling Strips: (1/8 inches in width. Length listed below)
    • 6 strips of purple paper (length: 6 inches each),
    • 1 strip of yellow paper (length: 6 inches),
    • 3 strips of green paper [length: 4 inches (stem), 5 inches (leaf), 6 inches (leaf)]
  • Quilling Tool
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Yellow & Purple Card Stock
  • Happy Birthday Rubber Stamp
  • Gold Ink Pad
  • 5 x 7 blank folding card
Step 1
Using the quilling tool, twist all the strips (except for the stem) into circles and glue the end so that they don't unravel. Pinch the two green circles (leaves) into the shape of a leaf (see below, final product, for shape). Twist the end of the stem to round it off.

Step 2:
Using your "Happy Birthday' rubber stamp, place it into the Gold Ink Pad, and stamp it onto the yellow card stock. Trim the excess paper

Step 3:
Glue the "Happy Birthday" card stock onto purple card stock and trim the excess, leaving a .25 inch border.

Step 4:
Put it all together on your 5 X 7 blank card. On the left hand side, glue your flower, and on the right hand side, slanted, glue the birthday sign.

Enjoy!
